Virtual pet show raises £340 for our animalsRSPCA ADMIN
Our newest event – a virtual pet show – raised £340.37 for animals in the care of our Martlesham animal centre.
Replacing our One Fun Day that was scheduled for Sunday 14 June, the on-line pet show attracted entries showing a range of much-loved pets, from dogs to cats and rats, horses, ferrets, guinea pigs and rabbits.
The class winners are:
Best Rescue – Rolo who was rescued from a puppy farm by RSPCA Southend and now visits hospitals as a Pets As Therapy dog. Runners up were Coco the cat and Mya the rabbit.
Sleeping beauty – the picture of ultimate relaxation was Cookie the cat, closely followed by two dogs, Jack and Buddy.
Golden Oldie was won by Winston the dog, a dapper old gentleman. Roly Poly Pudding the white rat and Aggy the welsh collie were runners up.
Perfectly Imperfect celebrated the imperfections we love so much and was won by a lovely dog called Leo. Milo the dog and Daisy the rabbit were runners up in this class.
Joie de Vivre showcased animals loving life and not afraid to show it and the winner was Margo a horse rolling for the sheer joy of it. Maebelle and JJ, both dogs, were the runners up.
Best Companion was possibly the most touching class, showing the special bond between animals and their human friends. It was won by Rosie the dog and her family, with two other dogs, Dobbie and Bindi, taking the runners up spots.
Winners and runners-up will receive a rosette and a certificate.
Many thanks to everyone who entered, especially those who gave over and above the £2 per entry donation, and to the judges who had such hard decisions, Zoe for the social media support and David Letts for designing the website entry page.
